In other news my boss referred to me as a "good people person" today! WTF?

I finally got my broadband connection altho I am miles away from the exchange so the speed I'm getting is not exactly anything to write home about but after over a month without any at all I'm not about to complain!

Well that was all a bit depressing really, now I need to find some sort of New Year Meme that I can fill with positive thoughts!

Well for some some reason I decided to move to a new apartment this week! This means that not only am I panicking about xmas shopping and trying to get a heap of work done before we close down for two weeks but I've also been lugging all my things from my old apartment to my new apartment one suitcase at a time!! fun fun!

To add to my woes I have to activate a new phone line and have been told it could take up to 3 weeks for my broadband connection to go "live". But on the bright side I LOVE my new apartment and its water views! Granted the Manchester Ship Canal isn't the Sydney Harbour water view I've always dreamt off but oh well can't have it all ;)

Anyway it turns out that no I cannot live without the internet I lasted 5 days but tonight headed down the motorway to Wales to go to my Nan's just so I could get on the net, sad or what? Although to be fair my main reason was so I could do my Xmas shopping, I have to do it online as when I go to "actual" shops I just end up buying myself stuff! *ooops*. I actually spent £65 on a watch yesterday that I didn't need although to be fair the very helpful and rather attractive shop assistant could have been part of the reason why I made that rash purchase! *ahem*.

I am so behind on LJ posts its upsetting and I really want to watch the Bianca/Reese AMC stuff but there's so much of it now I'm worried to start for the fear that I will lose a whole day to youtube so maybe its good I'm netless as I can be somewhat productive for a couple of weeks although inevitably at some point I will watch and it will be all jetgirl78 and her picspam's fault!

Anyway I will be finished with moving and work after this week and then off to London where they have a lovely fast cable internet line and hopefully my little cousins will leave me alone long enough at some point so I can catch up on my fangirling duties, not to mention dl my shows!!

Ok, so I've not blogged in a while! Mainly because I've been really busy and my fangirling has fallen by the wayside even my TV has suffered I am sooooo behind in my shows! Rush, Criminal Minds, 30 Rock & Pushing Daisies are the only ones I've been keeping up with, oh and Grey's but lets not go there.....

I also got rather invested in the US election and have spent a lot of my time watching msnbc and cnn for all the coverage and of course SNL for the LOL's! Then of course the election came and I spent the night highly amused by the use of actual holograms then elated by the result, followed by being upset at the Prop8 result and the other amendment results, a real rollercoaster of a time! But then of course cheered up by the fabulous Keith Olbermann a few days later.

But the best thing about the US election for me? Aside from Obama winning of course..... is this woman....  the crush just grew and grew and then with the arrival of this picture and her appearance on The Colbert Report in her adorable nerd glasses there is just no going back!!

In other news I quit my job (long story!) and started a new one! My new job is super flexible maybe too much? I've been there a week and a half and I feel like I've only done about 6 hours work although that is all that's been asked of me! Bit of a change from the 12 hour days I was doing at my old job! So basically I'm getting paid more for doing less work it seems.... yes surely it must be too good to be true? early days I guess!

Winter has well and truly set in over here and I have now resorted to having a heated electric blanket.... yes it seems I am THAT OLD! But I have to say I love it, nothing nicer than getting into a nice warm bed.. well maybe a nice warm bed with Laura Sanchez in it would be better but can't have it all ;-)

I've spent tonight packing as I have a friend coming over tomorrow and then the two of us are driving over to Blackpool for an L Word Convention.. yes you read that right an L Word CONVENTION!  I'm purely going because damn it I want to see Rachel Shelley and Jennifer Beals in the flesh! I feel a bit of a fraud going as I'm not really all that fangirly over The L Word anymore although this season was a HUGE improvement (up until the finale!) but I went last year and while on one hand it was terrifying it was also good fun and I met some nice people too.

This year I'm going with a group of friends so it will be nice to just hang out with them regardless! One of the funniest moments last year was at the hotel the event took place there was also a lot of old people there to take part in some sort of amateur ballroom dancing competition, you could imagine their reactions to some of the girls there but on the Saturday night in the main bar area the dancefloor was full of tipsy old ladies and lesbians dancing!! At one point I saw several of the old ladies teaching a gang of young lesbians to line dance to a Girls Aloud song while their husbands sat looking rather puzzled! classic! If that happens again this year I promise to post photographic evidence on here as it pretty much has to be seen to be believed!

Anyway after this weekend and with my new job that doesn't seem to involve much actual work I promise to catch up on my shows and get my fangirling back in full swing!

I did not have a good week last week but alas the weekend has been much better so far!

I have no idea why I'm so obsessed with US politics but I am and after having watched the VP debate have decided there is nothing worse than being told that my so called "lifestyle" is a choice and that it is something to be tolerated.

However after having just watched this, Tina has somehow managed to make it all better!

Sigh, this is just a quick one as I'm buried in work today! My show Criminal Minds is back the post strike episodes kinda annoyed me last season what with Emily's fringe and of course the AJ/Will/Baby crap but god I just can't quit this show! I won't bother going into the actual show aslysachan  pretty much sums up all I would want to say on the matter anyway! But basically, I am sooo glad its back and loved that even though Emily& JJ weren't featured very much, when they were it was totally femslashy and squeee Paget was in red, pulled a gun and wore kevlar all in the same ep what more could I ask for? And god Shemar is just far too pretty I like to think of myself as 100% gay but boy does he make me doubt that theory!!

In other news... apparently very little of Sylvia & Pepsi in this weeks LHDP but the teaser for next week looks more than promising especially as the two of them rarely get any promo love so this must be a good sign for the episode!

So "Los Hombres De Paco" aka my current obsession returned in Spain the other night with the "funeral" of Lucas, I enjoyed the ep and love that even in a funeral the show actually made me laugh out loud twice, it's also taught me (yet again) not to drink and watch the programme at the same time as it inevitably causes near choking incidents!!!



Not too many scenes with our girls Syliva & Pepa but what we did get was lovely! *sigh* just look at the interlocking stroking hands!


Not only was Pepa literally Sylvia's shoulder to cry on, but in every scene Pepa was either holding Silvia or looking at her, just beyond adorable really! I also loved the Polvedilla & Silvia scenes, cuteness! Looking forward for the remaining episodes which appear to feature Pepa & Silvia with guns and kevlar! Oh Happy Day!

Criminal Minds comes back next week and I've come across some interesting pics and a description for a future ep, better put a cut here but if you want some slightly spoilery info then

Well it's finally Friday and apparently the sun is actually going to be shining! wooo probably our last chance for any nice weather this year, so as much as I want to stay in and watch spanish tv shows, etc I've decided to have a fangirl free weekend and have arranged some things with a group of friends I've not seen in a while so that should be nice!

Well my Criminal Minds S3 DVD box set has arrived and I've been perusing them this weekend, sadly there is no Emily & JJ deleted scenes but there are some Emily scenes and of course I always love outtakes although nothing to beat pagets "motherballs" from the last seasons set! I must admit though I'm really not wanting to watch any of the post strike episodes, I just can't bear the JJ/Will storyline, not only have they effectively killed the JJ/Emily subtext but I also think the whole "secret relationship for a year" stuff was badly written and well lazy! Plus we have the whole problem of the "fringe" sigh!!

In spite of all that I did enjoy the finale (Will/JJ stuff aside) and I'm totally looking forward to the season premiere but am also rather anxious! Please let my Emily be ok!!

I've also been brushing up on my spanish and watching more Los Hombres De Paco as well as Hospital Central, I'm now totally hot for Maca, I wasn't sure at first but she's grown on me ridiculously and now I don't care that she's behaving terribly in the recent seasons she's hot she can do whatever she likes! hehe

I just saw this this morning and have watched it no less than three times, talk about living up to the hype Tina Fey NAILED it and Amy was fabulous too, the whole thing was just wonderful and true!!

This will be short but I just wanted to get this journal rolling! I am currently away in London for the week and having a lovely time. I have over a week off work for the first time this year and it is bliss! I'm staying with some of my family in Greenwich and have had a very sporting weekend of watching the olympics (where has ladies beach volleyball been all my life?? HOT!), playing tennis and soccer and we even went to a golf driving range although the fact my 7 year old cousin was hitting his balls much further than mine was rather embarrassing! Of course this means he must be some sort of golf prodigy rather than me being crap!

Anyway must leave this here I will try and blog regularly though as I usually have many things to rant about! :-)
